Newark NJ to Bedford PA

We passed a sign for an automobile museum and normally we would have no intrest. But then we realized it would be fun to see the acutal type of car that Lorena's father and grandparents traveled in - what fun. Mothers were free due to Mother's day. The man at the door said, "you must be mothers, so you are free" I protested but he would not belive us. I told him I was a nurse not a mother.

The old road is old. A year or two after Lorena's father did this trip they officaly named a cross country route the Lincoln Highway. Today we were on parts of this route. It was fun to guess what buildings would have been there in 1913.

This old gas sation is from the thirtes -still in use.

So we are tired , it is raining, late and we are hungry and we pass this tavern. It has been in operation since 1762. They had Dogfish Head on tap, hot, good onion soup. What a wonderful end the day. So much fun to travel the way it goes up and down.
